I've been thinking a lot about the essay I mentioned earlier, The Economic Tendency of Freethought. It is a response to a statement made by one Cardinal Manning...
Freethought leads to Atheism, to the destruction of social and civil order, and to the overthrow of government.

Just the response to the first statement, she agrees with the assertion, then goes on to explain why she does. Here is the argument broken down to its basic components.

Freethought posits that a right is s fact, an innate quality of life itself.
This being so, it cannot be administered by another.
A core concept of deism is rights are bestowed by the 'creator'.

So, accepting the first, it is a direct contradiction of the last.
