There is speculation that the polls are skewed because people are not willing to admit they won't vote for a black man, so when asked they say they are for Obama. My wife thinks this is a valid point, because there are many more people in the country that are too cowardly to voice their fears over the concept of a black man in the White House.
Then she made the point that there are in the Republican party those that are unwilling to admit they are bucking the party line by voicing their favor for Obama in the coming contest. This too seems to be valid, given the fierce push by conservatives to keep the masses in line by endlessly repeating the talking points.
It doesn't matter to me. Although I'm going to vote for Obama, I don't think either candidate will be able to bring Congress out of their spending rut. That won't happen until the taxpayers have nothing left to give.
