There is an article about the stimulus check over at Slate, the author calling it taxes on teenagers.
It really does seem insane for our government to be doing this. We will have to pay it back. My wife and I weren't included in the stimulus, not because we make too much money, but because I sold my house back in NC, which put our income beyond the cutoff for two people. Which means, later when taxes increase to pay for this, we will help pay the bill.
There is another article on Slate that talks about how the stimulus check has already been spent due to increases in fuel and food costs. Makes sense, with gas prices as high as they are, most Americans are spending much more than the measly $600 the received.
