Well, this is very interesting. Have some stuff I need to print, and it's been a while since I needed the printer. Before I would print to the shared printer in the windows network, but after switching the computers over to Ubuntu and Debian, I needed to put the driver for my HP on the laptop, the one still running windows for school, with Ubuntu running installed on the windows drive using Wubi.
To get the printer working in windows, I had to download the 35mb file and install it, which takes forever. Then I had issues with it, because the installation process, and connecting the usb printer, has to be done in a certain order. It was a pain. I went through this with windows, because I assumed it would take longer to get it to work with Ubuntu.
This morning I had some time, so I was ready to get the printer working with Ubuntu so I wouldn't have to reboot into windows if I wanted to use the printer. I plugged the printer in, and it printed a test page. I didn't have to do a thing. Now, I knew cups was getting better, but I had no idea.
