Someone calling Huckabee's tax plan brilliant. I read it, thinking maybe I misunderstood the plan, and the article at Slate would set me straight. Apparently there were others thinking the exact same thing, and remarked as such in the commenting section of the article. One commenter put it succinctly thus...
And just in case anybody is unclear on what that means: Consumption taxes are, by nature, regressive (i.e. they charge higher percentage taxes on lower earners) because wealthier people only spend a fraction of their income whereas poor people have no choice but to spend every penny they get.
