It's been a busy week. Laid Pergo down in the back room/library. There is a new couch back there - two seater, lamp, wine refrigerator, and of course the bookshelves. I have a table yet to put together, and the molding has to go down, but other than that the room is done. I was hurtin for three days afterward, with a total of 77 planks, I did at least that many deep knee bends. There is a lot of cutting involved, but that is the hardest part of the whole deal. An 11x17 area took about a day.
I was able to listen while working quite a bit, so I finished Emerald City as I posted earlier, and today I finished Let Me Go by Helga Schneider. That was an interesting book. Not very long, but riveting coming so soon after the long one about the Third Reich. Helga's mother left her and her brother at an early age to join the SS. The mother worked at a camp, one where they practiced medical experiments on human guinea pigs. Helga recounts a visit with her, one of only two as an adult, and the conversation she had with her.
We have moved forward on the sale of the house quite a bit. The realtor says they are anxious to buy it, and since I am agreeing to a low price they want to move fast. I also met face to face with the head instructor of the xray tech program at the community college. We leave this week for NC for my daughter's graduation, then the following week we plan to go to Vegas. Beyond that I will have six weeks before the first day of class.....
