I just read a blog about a woman that locked her kid in her car on a hot day. With the car running. A woman let her use her cell phone, and she called her husband who came right away with another key. She wrapped up with another thank you to both of them, and stated that god would thank them too. God prevailed and answered her prayers, and her husband wasn't even mad at her. She thanked god for that as well.

What I don't understand is why she can't see in her husband the qualities that drive him to treat her as he does? Why is it 'god' has to be responsible for these qualities, why cannot human beings have that as an inherent quality? It is true, I don't have faith in human beings as individuals, we are all flawed. I still believe that we have the capacity for something else, things that are not detrimental to other human beings, or society in general, and these qualities will eventually allow us as a species overcome the flaws. Of course, being an atheist, I don't believe a god is necessary for this, we are capable without an outside force, and when the majority of the human race can grasp this concept that capability will show itself.
