Now I get it. A few days ago it was all over mainstream news....

Hawking says we need to leave Earth as a species. "The long-term survival of the human race is at risk as long as it is confined to a single planet."

I believe he is right, but why is it big news when he says it? I mean, let's get real here, any dumbshit can figure it out. Looking long term, the Earth's resources can't last forever, and it's quite possible for humans as a species to last as long as the universe does. That would of course mean leaving the solar system. I was perplexed by the media attention this got, thought maybe it was a ploy by Stephen Hawking's 'handlers' to keep him mainstream, or rather, keep him in the thoughts of the general population. To what end I don't know, it just seems to me, my cynical self, that it was weird.

Well, today there is another announcement. I guess it's been out a few days. NASA wants to put a base on the moon. Ahhhh, so that was the scheme. Hawking is a popular physicist, people trust him. So if he says it, it must be true, and to put a base on the moon is in our best interests. It seems the people at NASA are following the same plan the Bush machine uses. It doesn't matter how obvious it is, the American people are going to buy the bullshit.

NASA is behind the ball. Haven't they heard the buzz around town? Nobody's listening to the Bush crowd anymore, it doesn't matter that the gang leader is president. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I disagree with such a plan. I disagree with the way they are going about greasing the skids. It's funny because according to the press, they aren't asking. Another tactic that stinks of Rove, say it many times and people will just accept it. People at NASA think that if they just put it out as a plan that is already in the works, everyone will buy into it.

I have a plan. How about we fix the fuckin deficit first. They want to spend billions on keeping people on the moon. We need to be thinking about shit like that when we have a surplus such as we had six years ago. Right now we'll be lucky if there isn't a recession before it gets fixed, because if our economy goes to shit, there will be nothing keeping the crazy muslims or the Chinese from taking over.....
