I received the piece of paper that says I did indeed graduate from a high school in Detroit, and today I took it up to the admissions office at the community college to have it put with my records. It still wasn’t enough, but of course there is nothing they can do, and they had me write a statement saying that I didn’t have a diploma, or a copy of one anyway, describing what happened to it and what I did in lieu of one. My wife continues to exclaim how stupid it all is, saying there must be 100s of people that don’t have possession of a diploma that did in fact graduate. Not sure myself why it’s important, and why they don’t ask for transcripts to be sent from the school. I’ve been scheduled for classes this fall, and not once was it requested that transcripts be sent.

Still no word from the radiology place about the weekend position. They don’t get the results from my drug test until today sometime anyway, so I’m debating on whether I should call them tomorrow if I don’t hear from them. It’s all just too weird, this job hunting. I was perusing web sites that offer tips on resumes and interviews, and found out that it is not customary to send a thank you note to the human resources individual that one interviews with. This is all new to me. I didn’t send one to that person, but did send one to the supervisor that interviewed me for the position. It was a good way to tell her that I made haste getting the drug test done, I probably gave the impression that I was way too busy to get it done soon, because at the time I was thinking of the interview I had scheduled for later that day, and didn’t think I would be able to work it in before hand. I decided I had time however, but while signing in at the medical place the guy that wanted to interview me called and wanted to do it early. I told him I needed half an hour to take care of what I was in the middle of, and that I would be there.
