I've been reading some more from the conserative forum site. I'm thinking I need to find a 'liberal' forum site and pick their shit apart too. It's funny, I'm pretty sure that if anyone from this site finds this lame shit I spout off about here, they would surely ban me from the site. So much for the 'free speech' they tout... OH NO!!!! Not BANNED!!!! Life would end, would it not!?!?! :)
Anyway, here's a snippet from one of the threads. It's all about an 'admitted liberal' getting 'put on a leash' on the site.
QUOTE (showcat @ Dec 9 2004, 10:44 AM)
you say that i hit and run, but every time i have tried to have a fair debate i have been shouted down. there is no reason to argue with people who think that you are WRONG. you will go on thinking i am wrong and nothing is achieved.....i have lots of opinions and will gladly debate them. but DEBATE them. not get called all kinds of names and treated badly because i have a differing opinion from you. you dont know me. and i dont know you. i dont know what you're like. but i dont think you are a bad person because you dont agree with what i agree with. you shouldnt be so suspicious of me. everyone is different. if you have had bad experiences with libs before- dont take it out on me!you must know by now that i am not a knee-jerk lib?
Then why come here? This is a CONSERVATIVE board....you're an admitted LIBERAL. There's assumed-consequence that goes along with walking into this mine-field you've now leashed yourself to.
You've NEVER ONCE tried to carry on a civil, open debate. You've asked questions, gotten responses, and then came back with more questions. When you get answers from our CONSERVATIVE members, you just act like they're not relevant and you continue to ask either the same questions, or more questions. Your igoring of our responces speaks volumes about your debate skills. You wouldn't know proper debate if it bit you on the backside.
See, here's the problem I have with this. In the first sentence of the reply to the quote, this person talks about there being 'assumed-consequences' that go along with 'walking into this mine-field'.... Not that I have a big problem with it, I really just need something to rant about here, as I have nothing better to do. Anyway, in the very next paragraph, this person talks about carrying on a 'civil, open debate'. I try to stay away from pointing out grammatical and spelling errors, cause nobody is perfect, even with spell check. but you have to actually use the spell check, and it is rather childish to do such a thing. Well, I think it's childish in a serious conversation, which this is not by any stretch of the imagination... my post, that is.
Anyway, they rant about how intellectual the debate is on this site, but I just read a thread where someone proposes killing every illegal immigrant that is found. This is civilized discourse? Time to check out the 'liberal' sites, see what they have to offer in terms of 'honest intellectual debate'. This oughtta to be a riot as well....
I just did spell check on this post. It seems the spell checker Blogspot uses doesn't like the word 'conservative'. :)
