So I'm supposed to write this paper on the story I picked, Stones of the village. We had a rough available for peer review for yesterday, and I had something written, but it was nowhere near what it should have been. Anyway, I"m laying in bed this morning thinking about it, I woke up early and my mind was going too much to allow me to relax enough to fall back asleep. I was thinking about other aspects of my school experience, but I don't have time to go into any of that, my purpose here is to get my ideas about this paper I'm supposed to write down so I don't lose them.

I'm working on the introduction. Well, I was working on it in bed, and this will be an attempt to get it down enough to be able to use it. ....

The author wrote the story with specific ideas to get across. Her background gives clues to some of the things on her mind, and how the situations in the story pertain to real life situations. She is a black teacher at the turn of the century, but she is accepted into society and has access more than most negroes because she has very light skin. Just a comment, but it's kind of sad when you realize that after 7000+ years of civilization you would think that as a mature civilized people we would be beyond this, but still at the turn of the century society will judge a book by it's cover, rather than the content. These ideas in general permeate the story The Stones of the Village, as she relates the trials of a man from early childhood through 50 years of life to his untimely death. These will be discussed, but one will be stressed because it is one of the most important underlying concepts.

Ok, here is where I work in my thesis, which is on one of my drafts. Then I will go into details about the story, focusing on issues that Victor is dealing with that relate to the thesis. I think that's how it's sposed to work anyway. As I said earlier, I've never done this before... well, if I did I don't remember, because as my wife pointed out I must have done some of this shit in high school. But, that was a looooong time ago.

And while I'm thinking about English class, something funny happened while we were waiting for class to start. Don't have time for it now, gotta get shit done so I can get my ass to school in time to get some studying done before this test. It's pretty interesting though, maybe I'll remember to get to it.... if I have time.....
