Wednesday is done, this morning as I walked to my first lecture it seemed a week had already transpired. Today was ok though, I had a couple of hour breaks which were a little longer because the instructors end the classes early. Just before my 12:00 math class I sat next to this big fountain in front of a building they call Old Main. There's one bench that has shade during that time, I was fortunate enough to be able to grab one end. I ate my sandwich and finished the reading assignment for english, then for western civ. It was nice because every once in a while a nice breeze would come up and bring a fine mist from the fountain my way. If you've ever been to the desert you know how much something like that is appreciated.

So with classes done, and my motorcycle parking pass in my wallet, I'm heading to the Jeep. I took a different route this time, which took me behind several of the dorms instead of in front of them. Thus, the reason for this entry. Immediately upon rounding the corner of the first housing unit, which happened to be a frat house, I noticed a sign forbidding all but resident parking. Just as soon as my mind registered the meaning of the sign (which can be ages for an old dawg like me), I noticed a slight difference between the vehicles parked there and the vehicles parked behind the housing unit right next to it. Let's see, there were two Z71s, two Explorers, one Expedition, and one Ram with a lift kit. Those are just the ones I took note of enough to remember. Of the 15 or so vehicles behind this frat house, maybe 3 were cars. It was obvious there were a lot of hormones in the equation when it came to picking out all these trucks. It reminded me of the times I'd be sitting in the shop way back when I was a Marine... Ok, I guess when I'm still a Marine, but when I was active duty... and there was always one Marine would strut around, being loud and obnoxious.

Then I got to thinking about whether or not any of the residents make this observation and come to the same conclusions I did. I would think not, with this display the only thing on those 'minds' is drinking beer and maybe chasing a little tail. I would tend to lean more toward the drinking theory, because if they were more into chasing tail there would be Porsches and Vettes instead of huge trucks.
