Is anyone paying attention?

Take a gander at the opinions in the news today. Our government officials in oil, Michael Moore and Disney, prisoner abuse, contracts in Iraq... Newspapers are talking about this stuff, books are being written, but is anyone really reading all this stuff?

It wasn't long ago you wouldn't have caught me dead engrossed in this stuff. Now, there isn't enough time in the day to read what everyone has to say. Some of it's a waste of time, like Noonan's fantasy about Hillary Clinton before she was a Senator. Actually, maybe it's all a waste of time. I mean, is it really gonna do any good to know all this stuff? After all, it's just one vote... mine. I've talked to people, but most people have already made up their minds, and nothing anyone can say will change the way they think, and more important, will change the way they will vote in the coming election... if they even vote at all.

Was watching Jay Leno last night. He has this thing he does called Jaywalking. He goes out and asks people questions to get a feel for what people know or believe about a certain topic. Last night he asked people at Universal Studios questions that can be found on the test immigrants have to take to become citizens. The failure was embarrassing. People in the education system in this country should be outraged. One lady didn't know who the Vice President is!!!

Of course, this is the way politicians like things to be. People are easier to manipulate and control when they are stupid. From last night's Jaywalking episode, we are stupid indeed.....
