Some stuff about photography I want to save....

There is another technique for digital photo editing I've come across. One of the hurdles to overcome with macro photography is the depth of field. Macro shots are pictures of things close to the lens, and with that distance the plane that the lens can focus on is extremely narrow. A small aperture gets you a deeper plane, so that more of the object front-to-back is in focus. So, in order to get the back legs of a grasshopper in focus in the same picture with the eyes, a narrow aperture would be used. The problem with this is the small aperture lets in less light, so that either more light is required on the subject, or a longer exposure, which in turn create their own problems.
