I left this comment on a couple of blogs that discuss Bush's recent interview....

"I think the creation of the world is so mysterious it requires something as large as an almighty,"

He could not have given a better explanation for the existence of religion. In essence, he said he thinks the universe coming into existence is an event, he doesn't know the mechanism for that event, so he has to make something up to explain it. Explains religious beliefs to a tee. The problem with the way he and people like him see things, is that it comes with baggage a lot of other people are unwilling to burden themselves with.
