Over at Chez's blog he posts a link about it, and says things are changing. I really don't think so, and I decided to say as such in a comment.
Oh boy, if it could really be true. The voice of the religious fanatic, protected by the Knights of PC, is inherently hysterical, whereas the voice of reason is inherently calm and introspective. It went something like that, I'll have to change it when the author posts it. The point is, those that practice objective reason are prone to allow others their say. When it is as outrageous as the shit the religious right has been spouting lately, the rational tend to let proof lie in the pudding, so to speak. The religious right will always display, better than anyone else can, how ridiculous their view is. There is the danger however, that rational minds, not wanting or needing protection, will fall victim to the hysterical nuts, as has been the case recently in Canada. The liberals up there have not heard any requests for aid when the rational have to deal with the nuts, for obvious reasons. The nuts however, have indignantly petitioned a council called the HRC, or Human Rights Commission, repeatedly for backing when their ridiculous doctrine is questioned in any way.
Consequently, a minority of outspoken theists will likely always be heard above objective discourse.
I see the possibility of the U.S. version of the HRC taking hold. Up there this council has been looking to bring the hammer down on anyone that they receive a complaint about. As I have commented several times here, someone up there is not thinking things through.
There is an article on Wikipedia about it here. The neutrality of the article has been questioned, but only because it seeks to bring to light the ludicrous activities of this worthless commission. Up there, the voice of reason lies in the conservative camp regarding this issue. Funny how that works....
