I read about McCain's wife and her tax returns. She released a summary, and of course people started riding her ass immediately. Apparently she gave some money to the school her children attend, which amounts to 1% of her income. She is being blasted for giving only this to charity in 2006.
Why is it this person, who just happens to be married to a presidential candidate, is expected to give to charity, when most people do not. It is meant to provoke disdain in the reader for this woman. This is absurd. Yes it is commendable when a person doles out charity, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is condemnable when someone does not, regardless of how much money they have.
