The first results of the primaries are in, in a couple of small towns in NH.

That's right, a total of 17 votes. The village has done this in every election since 1960, and since 1996 has had something of an informal competition with another village, Hart's Location, over who will finish voting and report the results first.

Not that I'm omniscient, but I've never heard of these towns doing this. Is this an indication that I am paying particular attention this time, or that the country is overall. Voter turnout may be indicative.

So, according to this, 46 people turned out for these primaries. 23 voted for democrats, 23 for republicans. If this is indicative, it's gonna be close again. I won't mind so much if the republican is Ron Paul or McCain, although I wouldn't vote for McCain, but would have a hard time voting against Ron Paul. Otherwise, it will be a democrat for me this time. Obama is obviously the favorite, so if this were the national view, a third independent would clinch it for the democrats.
