Parents should know and filter the reading materials their kids are exposed to. That is their job. For some that isn't enough, they want to spread their opinions to others, and would keep other's kids from reading things they think are objectionable. There is a web site that actually supports banning books, called safelibraries.org. They promote keeping things like Harry Potter out of libraries. Doesn't look like there is a lot of support for this, just a few people with too much time on their hands.
Still, even today, when we know that history has shown us these practices lead to undesirable consequences, it is surprising to see some still think this way. The only reason this web site is active is because the first amendment protects it, yet they would circumvent the Constitution if they think there is something someone else shouldn't read.
Then I found this, also thanks to Norm at onegoodmove.org, about some conservatives wanting to withdraw support for Republicans altogether because Giuliani supports abortion rights. They are threatening to split the election, which in essence threatens to guarantee a Democratic win, because they have to be smart enough not to realize that has been the outcome when third party candidates run for president. Well, I guess that's debatable, they are christian conservative, after all.
The group making the threat, which came together Saturday in Salt Lake City during a break-away gathering during a meeting of the secretive Council for National Policy, includes Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, who is perhaps the most influential of the group, as well as Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, the direct mail pioneer Richard Viguerie and dozens of other politically-oriented conservative Christians, participants said. Almost everyone present expressed support for a written resolution that “if the Republican Party nominates a pro-abortion candidate we will consider running a third party candidate.”

"There is a web site that actually supports banning books, called safelibraries.org."
False.
"They promote keeping things like Harry Potter out of libraries."
False, and I fail to see how you even came to this conclusion. Please show your audience exactly how you came to that conclusion. Then they will know whether they can trust you or not for accurate information in the future.
Don't you have better things to do than comment on a blog titled "Stupid Shit"?
As far as the conclusions are concerned, why are you worried? Can't you see from the ridiculous number of comments I get that NOBODY reads this trash?! Furthermore, I think anyone that takes my word for anything should seriously analyze their critical thinking skills. Posting the website was enough to show exactly what the person behind the website is all about.
