A man killed himself in Florida the other day. People found out he was a sex offender, because at 20 years old, he was caught exposing himself to a minor, a 9 year old girl.

Thinking he is a sick bastard? I'm not so sure about the bastard part, but he was sick. So, some commissioner put up signs everywhere announcing his presence in the area. Then, somebody else wrote on the fliers 'child rapist' in big letters. He was so distraught he killed himself over it. Did he deserve to die?

They interviewed his parents. The man was 39 years old when he killed himself, 19 years after his 'incident'. Also according to his parents, he had contracted some kind of meningitis as a child which left him partially disabled and partially brain damaged. The extent of the damage caused by illnesses is debatable, the information came from his parents. Still, should even a completely healthy man be subject to public ridicule almost 20 years after such an incident?

Today in the news... the CEO of Jet Blue has exposed himself... only to ridicule though. He was all over the airwaves apologizing for delays with Jet Blue flights. This prompted people to scorn, making all kinds of demands. It even prompted Congress to initiate legislation for a 'passenger bill of rights'. I looked for a few minutes, and it seems the delays with many airlines were due to weather. I didn't dig too much, so I don't know whether Jet Blue could have avoided any delays. It doesn't matter though, people are demanding the company be administered better to avoid such things.

I'm not really sure how you avoid weather, but that doesn't seem to concern people. Then there is the increase in air traffic, airlines fly nonstop 24/7. They use their air force to maximum capacity, if there are delays due to incontrollable circumstances, there is little room for adjustment. And this bill of rights thing reminds me of the labor movements of long ago, when a certain president of ours set out ridiculous maxims such as a 'right to a job'.

So I did more digging, after my wife told me how it all started, with passengers being kept on a plane for eight hours out on a runway because there were no empty terminal gates. They should have deplaned the passengers somehow. But it was just one incident in the bigger picture, and everyone feels that because some dipshit decided to leave those passengers stranded, and the whole airline industry in a frenzy because of the weather, they can start making unreasonable demands.

So much more to talk about, but there is a lot to do.....
