Reading an opinion about the New Orleans shit, or what people are saying about it. Some are complaining that only black people are shown looting, and the columnist mentioned that when black people steal, it's looting, when white people do it they are just 'finding food'. Here is how he finishes the article...

Tragedy often becomes a stage for the best of human character. But it seems as if this one is also destined to be a stage for the worst, a spotlight on the divisions that have lately grown so much wider between us.
And then there is the TV reporter who met a distraught man in the aftermath of the storm.
He told her how his house had broken in two. How he tried to hold onto his wife as storm and water raged. How she told him, "You can't hold me" and asked him to take care of the kids and the grandkids. How he lost his grip, and she was swept away.
The man was crying as he told the story and it seemed as if the reporter was weeping, too.
For the record, he was black, and she was white, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were also other differences between them.
But in that moment, they were just two human beings met at an intersection of inconsolable loss. There are times when nothing else matters.

The point is that yes, there are times when nothing else matters. What is he talking about that matters? "...just two human beings who met at an intersection..." There are differences, but they shouldn't matter. The fact is, they should NEVER matter!!! There will always be controversy concerning the differences until they cease to be a concern for people. Until we start pointing out to one another that it is irresponsible and immature to focus on these differences, it will continue to be an issue.
