Sent this letter to the school newspaper today, and I post it here for posterity. At least I think that's why I post it here......

Just after sending in a letter I read today's letters. There are two that I feel I must comment on.

The first concerns the discussion about the homeless people using the library. One reader says "they are abusive, drunken, obnoxious,..." Huh? I've seen them in the library, they are always there. For the most part they are extremely quiet, doing their best to be inconspicuous. Where is the harm? The same reader suggests school funds shouldn't be used to pay people to clean up after them. They are homeless, THEY DON'T OWN ENOUGH MATERIALLY TO GENERATE REFUSE!!!! I do think, however, that they should be kept from the computers that face the walls. There is one computer in particular, the monitor faces a blank wall, so that the user's back is to the wall, and to see what the person using the computer is doing on the Internet one would have to make a conspicuous effort. I've seen a person using this machine on several occasions, and he is obviously not a student.

The second letter I feel I must respond to concerns the 'liberals' that don't know how to behave. They cited the pie thrown at Ann Coulter. I just happened to be in the audience for both her talk and Michael Moore's talk. For Ann, other than the lunatic with the pie, the audience was courteous. For Michael however, he was interrupted at LEAST every 15 minutes with chanting from obvious republicans. I am sure there were discordants at both events, it is clear to me who has the better manners.
