Ok, here's a good waste of time. I just spent the last hour copying every single post I've done to my own document. Easy with cut 'n paste, right? Well, no. Not if you want to do it as I have, running in order from top to bottom, rather than from bottom to top as blogs are set up. Like I said, probably a waste of time....

The latest on the bus driving job is there is no job. The district started spring break for a week, the last day being Friday. The kids are usually wound up on Fridays, but since they knew they were going to be off for a week they were a little extra antsy. (I've heard the last day of school is a nightmare for routes with the really rotten kids)

Anyway, I can only attest to the trip to school because I didn't take them home. They were so spooled they were beside themselves. There were close to 40 on the bus and they weren't going to put up with any kind of subduing whatsoever. Of course I tried to subdue them enough so they at least sat down while the bus was moving, but they weren't having any of that and took it out on the bus driver of course. He's the enemy right? The attitudes were borderline tolerable... actually I couldn't tolerate it. I always feel one of them needs a good slap, but that day I had a strong urge to slap the shit out of one of them. Then as they were disembarking one of them said as he went out the door, "Aren't you glad you don't have to deal with us for a week?" As I drove away I was furious until I realized I really don't have to put up with those little idiots. I drove straight back to the yard and let them know I didn't have to, and I wasn't going to. It's for their own good. How long can one contain themselves when the urge to physically lash out is usually present. I don't want to find out.

I have talked to them on the phone, the supervisors I mean. "We will give you easier routes." They are short drivers of course. That wouldn't be right either. Other drivers would be upset knowing another driver is getting the easy routes all the time. I would be upset about it too. I told them so.... "But they don't have to know."

It aint right.
